  1. in my experience – cattle will bring down a drystane dyke but not if discouraged by barbed wire, while sheep will usually be contained by a well-kept dyke, but can slip through barbed wire.

    sheep fencing resembles a logorythmic chart. novice farmers will sometimes use it wrong-way-up, leaving the larger holes at the bottom and the smaller at the top, which looks nice but doesn’t do the job.
